Hello, we're Declan and Penny

We live in Lancashire with our two teenage sons. Like most families, we've watched energy prices climb and wanted to bring our own running costs down.

Declan is a trained electrician and works from home. Penny cooks most of our meals, and with four of us to feed, cooking and running the dishwasher make up a significant share of our daily energy use. We have gas central heating, an electric car and a dual-rate tariff, so we think about when and how we use power every day.

Trying new tech has become almost a hobby. Some of it works for us and some of it doesn't. This site is where we share those experiences and the products we've chosen.
